Australia in glorious 720nm infrared

Australia has some freaky landscapes. I’ve never visited this continent but I’ve been fascinated by pictures and videos of its sights and wonders for a long time.

Today I found this awesome clip by Australian filmmakers Glen Ryan and James van der Moezel.

“This piece was filmed in the limestone landscapes near Wee Jasper NSW and was captured in near infra-red”, the artists wrote on their Vimeo page (link). According to them, much of the footage is time-lapse, but there are also some sections of both normal and slow motion footage.

It was filmed with standard RED Scarlet-X and Epic-X cameras. I think they’re using a standard 720nm IR filter.
